MARION COUNTY, Oregon - The North Marion Tourism Collaborative (NMTC), a Destination Management Organization representing nine cities and the unincorporated area of Brooks in Marion County, is pleased to announce it has officially obtained 501(c)(6) nonprofit status in the State of Oregon.
This milestone enables NMTC to expand its mission of promoting, educating, supporting, and growing North Marion County's tourism assets and overall local economic vitality through collaboration and stewardship.
"Achieving nonprofit status is a significant step forward for our collaborative," said Maricela Guerrero, Chair of the North Marion Tourism Collaborative. "This designation will strengthen our ability to market our diverse communities as a unified destination while preserving the unique character of each area we represent."
The North Marion Tourism Collaborative serves the communities of Aurora, Brooks, Donald, Gervais, Hubbard, Mt. Angel, Scotts Mills, Silverton, St. Paul, and Woodburn, showcasing the region's natural beauty, agricultural heritage, and cultural attractions to visitors and locals from across Oregon and beyond.
With this new status, NMTC will benefit from:
"We look forward to leveraging this new designation to increase tourism spending in our communities and to support local businesses," added Sam Kaluff, Vice Chair of NMTC. “Having 501(c)(6) status opens up a number of potential revenue sources to the NMTC that were previously not available to us."
