Enjoy a FREE living history event with re-enactors, artisans, and live music as we share a bit of pioneer life in our historic museum complex. Wander through the village and watch artisans, use a quill pen in the school house, learn about pioneer toys, and best of all, try some pioneer chores!! See what’s new in the General Store and be sure to bring some coins to purchase a bit to eat. You will not want to miss this chance to experience life in the 1850s! This year’s Village Faire will be held concurrently with Champoeg State Park’s 19th Century Farm Days (12:00 pm to 3:00 pm). Farm Days will explore farming in the pioneer era with a garden station and farming chores such as corn-grinding. There will be a children’s games table, and a scavenger hunt. The park is an easy walk for Newell Pioneer Village – or take a ride in the mule cart (limited availability). Held during Constitution Week, we will also be celebrating the Constitution.
